Status (Extant or Former)

This dimension marks whether a polity is extant or former, still existing today or now defunct. Wikipedia notes that a polity has "a capacity to mobilize resources," a capacity that a former polity has since lost entirely. Browsing by status separates polities still existing today from those that no longer do.
