The Karamanids, also known as the Emirate of Karaman or the Beylik of Karaman, were a Turkish Anatolian beylik of Salur tribe origin, descended from the Oghuz Turks and centered in south-central Anatolia around what is now Karaman Province. From the mid-fourteenth century until its fall in 1487, the Karamanid dynasty was one of the most powerful beyliks in Anatolia.
