The Prague uprising was a partially successful attempt by the Czech resistance movement to liberate the city of Prague from German occupation in the final days of the Second World War. It took place from 5 to 9 May 1945, as Soviet and other Allied forces converged on the region, and ended with the withdrawal of German forces from the city.
