The War of the Third Coalition, from 11 April 1805 to 18 July 1806, pitted France and its allies against a coalition of the United Kingdom, the Austrian Empire, the Russian Empire, Naples, Sicily and Sweden. Napoleon's encirclement of an Austrian army at Ulm in October 1805 was followed by the decisive French victory over the combined Austro-Russian force at Austerlitz on 2 December 1805, even as the Royal Navy secured naval dominance at Trafalgar the previous month. Austerlitz effectively ended coalition resistance in Central Europe, and Austria withdrew from the war through the Treaty of Pressburg, signed 26 December 1805.

Facts
Disputed
Death Toll, Low Estimate
from 62,050 1
French and allied forces' own killed, wounded or captured across the 1805-1806 campaign, per the aggregate casualty figures on record for this conflict. This is the SMALLER of two reasonable readings of the war's toll; see death-toll-max for the combined-both-sides figure.
Death Toll, High Estimate
to 222,050 1
Combined killed, wounded or captured across BOTH sides (allied forces 160,000 plus French and allied forces 62,050), the larger of two reasonable readings; see death-toll-min for the French/allied-only figure. The two numbers answer different questions (one side vs. both) rather than representing a genuine high/low disagreement about the same quantity.
