The Mannheimer Akte, officially the Revised Rhine Navigation Act of 17 October 1868 and also known as the Mannheim Act, is an international agreement among the Rhine riparian states regulating vessel traffic on the Rhine. Its principles include free shipping, equal treatment of sailors and fleets, exemption from shipping charges, simplified customs clearance, an obligation to maintain the Rhine's banks, standardized ship safety and traffic regulations, a single jurisdiction for shipping matters with dedicated Rhine waterway courts, and a commission to monitor these principles.
