The Port Huron Statement is a 1962 political manifesto of the American student activist organization Students for a Democratic Society. Written by its members, it was completed on 15 June 1962 at a United Auto Workers retreat outside Port Huron, Michigan, for the organization's first national convention. The UAW, under Walter Reuther's leadership, covered a range of expenses for the convention, including use of its summer retreat at Port Huron.
