The Treaties of Tilsit, together known as the Peace of Tilsit, were two peace treaties French Emperor Napoleon concluded at the town of Tilsit in July 1807, after his victory at the Battle of Friedland brought the War of the Fourth Coalition to an end. Napoleon and Russian Emperor Alexander I signed the first treaty on July 7, 1807, and Napoleon and Prussian King Frederick William III signed the second two days later, on July 9, following a truce Prussia had already agreed to on June 25.
