Liu Zhiyuan, who later changed his name to Liu Gao and is known posthumously by his temple name as Emperor Gaozu of Later Han, was the founding emperor of the Shatuo-led Later Han dynasty, the fourth of the Five Dynasties during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. He was the older brother of Liu Min, who went on to found the separate state of Northern Han.
