Emperor Taizu of Later Liang, personal name Zhu Wen (later Zhu Quanzhong, then Zhu Huang), was a Chinese military general, monarch and politician. Originally a Tang dynasty warlord and Jiedushi, he overthrew the Tang dynasty in 907 and founded the Later Liang dynasty as its first emperor, opening the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. The last two Tang emperors, Emperor Zhaozong and Emperor Ai, ruled as his puppets from 903 to 907 before he had both of them murdered.
