Babe Didrikson Zaharias, born Mildred Ella Didrikson and living from 26 June 1911 to 27 September 1956, was an American athlete who excelled across golf, basketball, baseball and track and field. She won two gold medals and a silver medal in track and field at the 1932 Summer Olympics before turning to professional golf, where she went on to win ten LPGA major championships.
