Margherita of Savoy (20 November 1851 to 4 January 1926) was Queen of Italy as the wife of her first cousin, King Umberto I. Her full name was Margherita Maria Teresa Giovanna and she was born in Turin, then the capital of the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont, the daughter of Prince Ferdinando of Savoy, Duke of Genoa, and Princess Elisabeth of Saxony. In 1869 she gave birth in Naples to Victor Emmanuel, Prince of Naples, who later became King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy, so she was both consort of one Italian king and mother of the next.
