Pope Anacletus, also known as Cletus, was the bishop of Rome following Peter and Linus, serving from around AD 80 until his death around AD 92. A Roman by birth, he ordained a number of priests during his tenure and is traditionally credited with setting up about twenty five parishes in Rome. He is remembered as a martyr and is mentioned in the Roman Canon of the Mass.
