Pope Evaristus was the bishop of Rome from around 99 or 100 until his death in 107 or 108. Also known as Aristus, he is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church and Oriental Orthodoxy. It is likely that the apostle John the Apostle died during his reign, marking the end of the Apostolic Age.
