Piye was an ancient Kushite king and founder of the Twenty-fifth Dynasty of Egypt, who ruled Egypt during 744 to 714 BC.

Why this is disputed. The brief named a Piye-to-Taharqa succeeded-by chain, but Piye's own infobox names Shebitku (not Taharqa) as his direct successor, and Taharqa's own cited lead states his descent from Piye is uncertain.
