Taharqa was a pharaoh of the Twenty-fifth Dynasty of Egypt and qore, or king, of the Kingdom of Kush, present-day Sudan, from 690 to 664 BC.

Why this is disputed. The brief named a Piye-to-Taharqa succeeded-by chain, but Piye's own infobox names Shebitku (not Taharqa) as his direct successor, and Taharqa's own cited lead states his descent from Piye is uncertain. Written as a debated dynastic related-to edge rather than an unsupported direct succession.
