Sweyn Forkbeard was King of Denmark from around 986 and briefly King of England from December 1013. He was also overlord of Norway from around 986 to 994 and again from around 1000. He married the sister of Boleslaw, ruler of Poland, and had three known children by her, including King Harald II of Denmark and King Cnut, who later ruled England; he also had a daughter, Gytha, from an earlier relationship.
